AGE-WELL NCE is pleased to offer this exciting and innovative training event to AGE-WELL HQP across Canada.  Our second summer institute’s theme, Co-Creating Possibilities: Physical Fitness to Avoid Frailty, will be the focal point for a week of engaging workshops, lectures, and activities on participatory, user-centred design.

The AGE-WELL EPIC Summer Institute, 2017 will provide HQP with an unparalleled opportunity to work closely with expert mentors and develop a solution that facilitates physical fitness and healthy aging to avoid frailty.  AGE-WELL solutions involve three types of “products”: technologies (e.g. home monitoring networks to encourage fitness), services (e.g. integration of a technology into community services), and policies (e.g. plans to ensure funds saved in one sector flow to another).

Summer Institute participants will be challenged to consider this year’s theme from all perspectives and to develop multi-faceted practical solutions. Throughout the week, HQP teams will work through the design process from problem definition to brainstorming and business models to prototyping, culminating in a “pitch competition” with cash prize.
