Congratulations to AGE-WELL Board Vice-Chair Barbara Stymiest on being appointed to the Order of Canada for her “trailblazing efforts in Canada’s financial and business sectors, as well as for her mentorship and community engagement.”
Stymiest, a corporate director, is a former member of the Group Executive for the Royal Bank of Canada, a former CEO of TMX Group Inc., Executive Vice-President and CFO at BMO Capital Markets and Partner of Ernst & Young LLP.
A founding AGE-WELL Board member, Stymiest has played an instrumental role in guiding AGE-WELL’s development into the most comprehensive AgeTech network in the world.

Stymiest is a member of the Boards of Blackberry Limited, George Weston Limited, President’s Choice Bank and Sun Life Financial Inc. She is also Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of University Health Network, a director of CIFAR and a member of the Advisory Board of the Ivey Institute for Leadership.
A Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant, Stymiest obtained her H.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. She has received honorary degrees from Western University, University of New Brunswick, University of Guelph and the Canadian University of Dubai.
