New partnership gives boost to Alberta-based tech companies and researchers supporting healthy aging
AGE-WELL is pleased to partner with Alberta Innovates to create more opportunities for Alberta-based tech companies and researchers in the healthy aging space.
AICE – Tech for Healthy Aging, powered by AGE-WELL and Alberta Innovates, is a priority call offered through Alberta Innovates’ Accelerating Innovations into CarE (AICE) funding programs to accelerate development and commercialization of technologies for healthy aging.
Alberta Innovates is Alberta’s largest research and innovation agency focused on accelerating innovation from discovery to use across all sectors in all parts of the province. The agency’s AICE – Concepts Program serves to accelerate early-stage health research and innovation that demonstrates high commercial potential towards proof of concept. Its AICE – Validate Program supports innovators who already have a strong proof of concept to refine and validate their health technology and value proposition.
The AICE – Tech for Healthy Aging funding call aims to advance and validate technologies that support caregivers and help older adults achieve better health and quality of life as they age in place in their preferred environment. AICE – Tech for Healthy Aging offers amounts of $200K-$300K in funding and supports projects that align to Alberta Innovates’ AICE – Concepts or AICE – Validate programs AND:
- Advance novel technology-enabled solutions that enhance older adults’ lives and support healthy aging;
- Consider how to meet the needs of populations at risk and equity-deserving groups of older adults and care partners; and
- Align to at least one of AGE-WELL’s Challenge Areas.
See the supplemental program guide for more details on requirements for this priority program call.
