John Reid

Commercialization and Tech Transfer

John Reid is the Director of Technology Development and Commercialization (TDC) at the University Health Network (UHN).  He is a senior-level executive and scientist in the life sciences industry with a successful track record of delivering licensing and partnership deals for the development of innovative medical products and technologies that provide real benefits to customers and patients.  Dr. Reid received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from the Le Bow College of Business at Drexel University, Philadelphia. He is now a global leader in drug research and development, with numerous career accomplishments in science and business, including the prestigious Deal of Distinction Award from the Licensing Executive Society in 2008 and 2010. Prior to joining UHN, Dr. Reid held a number of scientific and business positions at leading pharmaceutical companies including AstraZeneca (currently GlaxoSmithKline), GlaxoWellcome and Genentech. He is also the Founder and Operator of Entrepid Business Development, a consulting company to help biopharmaceutical companies develop global licensing and partnering agreements.
