Lawrence Normie

Lawrence Normie is the Executive Director and Director of Research at GeronTech, the Israeli Center for Assistive Technology & Aging. Mr. Normie has a B.Sc. in Pure and Applied Physics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and a M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University College London (UCL). Mr. Normie is registered as a Chartered Physicist at the UK Institute of Physics. He is a member of the Israel Society for Medical and Biological Engineering (ISMBE), the International Society for Gerontechnology (ISG) and the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe (AAATE). Mr. Normie consulted for five years to the Office of Chief Scientist at the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Commerce, where he reviewed R&D grant proposals and inspected high technology companies receiving government grants. He is an editorial board member of the ‘Technology and Disability Journal’ and section editor for the ‘Gerontechnology Journal’. He is the Israeli delegate in ISO technical committees on “Technical systems and aids for disabled or handicapped persons” and Ergonomics.
