Susan Thorning

Susan Thorning is a former CEO of the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) (2006 to 2012), a not-for-profit organization which represents the home and community support sector in Ontario. For more than 25 years, she has worked to strengthen and promote home and community support as the foundation of a sustainable health care system. Ms. Thorning’s experience with the OCSA includes project management and development of standards, training, and knowledge management activities with community-based organizations and First Nation communities across the province. Ms. Thorning received her education from the University of Guelph, the University of Toronto as well as York University. In 1986, Ms. Thorning started one of Ontario’s first day programs serving clients with Alzheimer Disease. She is currently a Board member for Care Watch Toronto, Elder Abuse Ontario and OASSIS, and is an Executive Committee member of the Elora Arts Council.
