Speaker bio: Dr. Jon Thomas is a BC Regional Innovation Chair and the Director of the Esposito Family Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of the Fraser Valley. He is an Associate Professor at UFV’s School of Business. Jon holds a PhD from IIT Delhi and has been a Mitacs Elevate Post-doctoral Fellow. He is also the Acting National Academic Director for SFU’s invention to Innovation (i2I) program. He studies the pre-formation and early post-formation stages of venture emergence, particularly from university settings. His research has been published in Nature Nanotechnology, Technovation, and the Journal of Cleaner Production, among others.
