AGE-WELL Webinar: How to Review Journal Articles with JRATE Editors

Description: Peer review, sometimes also called expert review, is a fact of academic life. As graduate students and early career researchers (ECRs) it is an opportunity to build your CVs and provide a valuable service to your field. This session will introduce you to the review processes for journal articles. You will learn how to quickly parse information and provide effective and balanced feedback in an efficient manner.

This webinar will be hosted by the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor of the RATE Journal (Journal of Rehabilitation & Assistive Technologies Engineering). They will share details on the JRATE reviewer and publishing opportunities available to AGE-WELL HQP and ECRs, and EPIC-AT Fellows.

 

Speakers:

 

Kath M. Bogie, D.Phil, FAIMBE is the current Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering (JRATE). Dr. Bogie is also on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Tissue Viability and the International Wound Journal. Dr. Bogie is a biomedical engineer with an international reputation in translational research, leading interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered interventions that meet the complex, multifactorial problems of wound management.

 

Dr. Mei Lan Fang is an Assistant Professor in Urban Aging in Urban Studies and Department of Gerontology at Simon Fraser University, Canada. She is also a Visiting Research Associate in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Dundee, Scotland and Associate Editor of the Journal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering. Her primary research contribution has focused on progressing community-based participatory research concepts, theory, and methods for co-creating healthy, inclusive age-friendly places and environments.
