SUMMARY:Closing the Gap: Accelerating the Adoption of AI and Robotics in Long-Term Care
DESCRIPTION:To meet the needs of our aging population\, the pace of innovation\, from ideation to pilot projects to practical adoption\, must be accelerated. Simultaneously\, societal expectations around the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare are rapidly changing. This webinar will highlight how AI and robotics are reshaping healthcare delivery and accelerating technology adoption with two experts from GlobalDWS. \nThese speakers will share key lessons from their experiences integrating technology solutions in healthcare. Technology adoption case studies from Canadian long-term care (LTC) settings will illustrate their benefits\, including addressing labour shortages through smart monitoring/IoT solutions via service robots (social engagement\, nursing caddies\, cargo delivery) and reducing administrative burden through AI-enabled note-taking and LLMs.  We will also learn about GlobalDWS’ framework for collaboration with academic partners that supports accelerated innovation and product deployment. \nThis interactive session will conclude with an exploration of how researchers can engage with\, and participate more extensively in\, the capacity building and technology adoption journey within LTCs.  Together\, we can further strengthen Canada’s progress in the AgeTech sector. \nAttendees of this session will: \n  \n\nLearn about 5 real-life case studies illustrating how AI-enabled technology is being deployed in Canadian LTCs.\nExplore the benefits of enhanced collaboration and open innovation partnerships between technology companies and academia.\n\n  \nSpeakers: \n  \nRami Wehbe is the CEO\, CTO and Co-founder of GlobalDWS. He has over two decades of strategic innovation and digital transformation experience with a focus on smart\, sustainable workplaces. With a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Middle East Technical University\, his educational background includes programs and certifications from McGill University\, York University\, the University of Toronto\, Harvard\, and MIT. His expertise spans AI\, IoT\, robotics\, cognitive automation\, and advanced workplace technologies. \nLee St James is the VP of Sales and Marketing at GlobalDWS and founder of Social Robots\, an AGE-WELL start-up affiliate. With a passion for understanding and optimizing human robot interaction\, Lee also serves as Managing Director of the global non-profit Urban Robotics Foundation. She has her MBA from INSEAD (Fontainbleau) and an HBA from Ivey Business School at Western University. \n  \n Register Here\n
