Shaun McCumber
Shaun McCumber is a seasoned Indigenous business consultant and PMI‑certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 30 years of experience advancing digital health, information management, and multi‑stakeholder initiatives across British Columbia and Canada. A Métis Cree professional and registered citizen of both the Métis Nation of BC and the Métis Nation of Greater Victoria, Shaun is deeply committed to Indigenous self‑determination, digital sovereignty, and community‑driven innovation. He has led numerous large‑scale digital health programs, including eHealth infrastructure, EMPI and provider registries, telehealth, and community health systems, and has worked extensively with Chiefs, Elders, Health Directors, First Nations organizations, health authorities, and federal/provincial partners.
Shaun currently serves as Business Development Lead at Mustimuhw Information Solutions (MIS), where he champions Indigenous digital health transformation, ecosystem partnerships, and nation‑led implementation strategies. He chaired the MIS‑led Indigenous Digital Health Ecosystem initiative through the DIGITAL Global Innovation Cluster and served as Product Owner for the Indigenous Housing & Fire Safety proof‑of‑concept. Through Neville Consulting Group, an Indigenous‑owned and CCIB‑certified firm, Shaun integrates sustainability planning, digital transformation, and Indigenous‑centered leadership models to support long‑term, values‑aligned outcomes. A recognized leader in governance, he has served on the boards of the DIGITAL Global Innovation Cluster, Mount St. Mary Hospital, the Canadian Information Processing Society, and the Canada Health Infoway Trust Framework Advisory Committee. Shaun is also a decorated 25‑year volunteer firefighter with federal and provincial long‑service honours.
